semapp Documentation

This is the web-based "Electronic Semester Apparatus" of University Library Braunschweig, Germany. It is a tool for creating, editing and browsing collections of lecture material (books, articles, and online resources).

Main features include:

Professors can log in with their password and maintain their own collections of lecture material with a web interface. They may create web-links to online resources. They may also place an order for books and articles from the library to be added to their collection.
Professors are automatically notified by e-mail about status changes of their active orders.
Librarians can view the orders and track the order status of books and articles. They can accept or refuse an order, edit the order, or send an e-mail notification to the owner of the collection.
Students may view the collection and can download online documents. Documents can be password protected by the professor or the librarian.

Requirements: PHP 4.x or better, MySQL 4.0.x or better, Smarty PHP Template Engine, YAZ Library (for Z39.50 support)
